About Zion Community Space
Zion is a community hub in Bedminster Down, South Bristol where everyone is welcome. We provide a warm safe space for community groups to run, our cafe is open during the week, and we put on an array of affordable events. It was founded as a social enterprise in 2011 and transitioned to a Community Benefit Society in 2022. As of May 2023, Zion became community-owned by 380 community shareholders and is run on their behalf by the Board of Directors.
We are looking to co-opt up to three voluntary Directors with skills in finance, accounting, HR, business strategy and/or the hospitality industry on a temporary basis until the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held in September 2024. There’s the possibility of co-option extension from September 2024.

About the role
This is a voluntary position suited to people who care about community spaces and want to be a part of growing a thriving and well-loved community hub in Bristol. We are looking for people with time they are willing to volunteer and skills which complement the current Board’s skillsets, notably financial skills, accountancy, HR, business strategy and hospitality management. This is a great way to gain experience, meet like-minded people and make a meaningful contribution to Zion Community Space and our mission.
The Board aims to be representative of the local and wider communities of south Bristol and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds regardless of age, ethnicity, heritage, gender, sexuality, and other differences.
