PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

  • Contract type: permanent
  • Reports to: Centre Manager
  • Responsible for: Event Manager
  • Hours: 22 hours per week
  • Pay: £13 per hour

About the role

We’re looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and community-focused Programme Coordinator to deliver a diverse, creative and exciting programme of events that will ensure Zion is at the heart of the community.

You’ll work closely with the team to develop, manage and coordinate Zion’s programme of events and bookings including community events, ticketed events, weddings, private hires, and office and meeting spaces. You’ll ensure the events programme reaches a wide spectrum of participants and audience members, whilst bringing in creative and fresh ideas to help diversify income streams.

The role will require someone who is willing to work flexibly and independently. The position will require some weekend and evening hours. There may be the possibility of overtime.

Your knowledge and skills

Essential

  • Experience and knowledge of working with a hospitality or similar environment.
  • Have an enthusiastic and adaptable approach to working with people from staff members, volunteers and community members.
  • Willingness and ability to work varied hours including weekends and evenings.
  • Experience of budgeting, administration and project management for a range of activities and events.
  • Commercially aware
  • Knowledge of marketing and promotion and ability to creatively engage different audience groups.
  • Ability to work unsupervised under your own initiative.
  • A commitment to the ethos and vision of Zion Community Space.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within the creative arts
  • Good IT and social media skills
  • Local knowledge of BS13 and surrounding communities
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation of events and audiences
  • Understanding of under-represented groups and community members and how to encourage engagement for new visitors
  • Ideas for the development of Zion as a venue and income streams

EVENTS MANAGER

  • Responsible for: Bar Coordinators and Bar Assistants
  • Hours: 10 hours per week
  • Pay: £12.50 per hour

About the role

We’re looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and community-focused Event Manager to manage and ensure the smooth running of evening and weekend events at Zion.

You’ll work closely with the team to manage the operation of events and the bar including event set up/pack down, artist and guest liaison, on the day Wedding Coordination and bar work. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the safe purchasing and sale of alcohol. You’ll manage a small team of Bar Staff.

The role will require someone who is willing to work flexibly and independently. The position will require regular weekend and evening hours. There may be the possibility of overtime.

Your knowledge and skills

Essential

  • Experience and knowledge of working with a hospitality or similar environment.
  • Have an enthusiastic and adaptable approach to working with people from staff members, volunteers and community members.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Willingness and ability to work varied hours including weekends and evenings.
  • Experience of administration and health and safety processes
  • Ability to work unsupervised under your own initiative.
  • A commitment to the ethos and vision of Zion Community Space.

Desirable

  • Good IT and social media skills
  • Personal Alcohol Licence holder
  • Knowledge of marketing
  • Local knowledge of BS13 and surrounding communities
  • Ideas for the development of Zion as a venue and income streams
