Our Local Heritage Day!

Join us for a day to celebrate the local history and stories of Bedminster Down and Bishopsworth! This is a FREE day for everyone to enjoy, so bring all your family and friends for an fun filled day out at Zion…
Here is the line-up for the event:
10am: Doors Open
10am-4pm: Exhibition of historical photographs and memories of Bedminster Down and Bishopsworth from local residents, come along and see who you might recognise!
Exhibits include a shop window recreated from “Valley Supply’ store on Valley Rd (now Lennard Surgery).
There will also be a Manor Woods information stall as well as a stand for the Bishopsworth British Legion and local plants and crafts.
10am-3pm: Blacksmiths Demonstration
Ever fancied trying your hand at Blacksmithing? Now is your chance, join Paul the Blacksmith in the Zion Garden.
10am-3pm – All day cafe with a themed Heritage Menu!
Hot food will be available until 2pm, after that we will have cream teas and snacks.
2.30pm – Local Poetry from the Zion creative writing group.
3-4pm – ‘Cream Tea and Comedy’ Indulge in a cream tea and plenty of laughter with comedians Angie Belcher and Sal Monello.
Sal is originally from Sicily and born in Corleone no less, he came over to this country because his father had to escape the Mafia! Having lived here such a long time has developed a quirky cross mix between Italian and English humour if you ask him might even tell you about the time he appeared on come dine with me…
Cream Teas will be available all afternoon.
